For over 40 years, Tom has been a respected leader, innovator, professor, self-starter, and Board Member. He is an award-winning educator advocating for skills development in the science, engineering, technology, math and arts areas for his entire career.

Leveraging extensive board experience, and collaborating for a better future, Tom brings insights to enhancing the quality of education. Since 2019, Tom has been appointed by the Ontario Minister of Universities and Colleges as a Board member of the (PEQAB) Post-Secondary Education Quality Assessment Board and is serving in this position until 2028 to provide governance on the quality of education, resources and programs.

Tom has extensive experience leading and developing teams who collaborate to lead change in the advancement of science, technology, engineering, math and arts through education, conferences, and skill enhancements programs.

In addition, Tom served as an adjunct professor for the College of Engineering & Physical Sciences at University of Guelph. Tom is a member of various Boards of Directors and University Advisory Boards such as Simon Fraser University (BC), and McMaster University.

Tom seeks transparency, fairness and equity through his work. As a collaborative contributor for governance, and strategy to enrich the experience of students, Tom commits to encouraging skills development horizons, fiscally responsible excellence in education to enable the creation of the next generations of highly skilled, employable, innovative students.

He believes that good governance encourages delivering education programs to support the needs of today, tomorrow and the future.
